Cameron Michael Lyon, passed away on September 6, 2026, at the age of 23. He was born on November 6, 2002 in Galion, Ohio as the son of Ben and Andrea (Ketterman) Lyon. Cameron was a graduate of River Valley High School’s Class of 2021. He went on to attend Otterbein University, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Education and History in 2025. He began his career as a Social Studies teacher at Crestline Middle School, bringing his knowledge, energy, and care for others into the classroom. He had just proposed to the love of his life, Abrielle Kerns a few months ago.

He lived with enthusiasm and a wide range of interests and accomplishments. Cameron was an Eagle Scout, a member of Caledonia Memorial Methodist Church, and part of Zeta Phi Fraternity. He was an accomplished violinist and was active in Track and Field during his school years, especially in field events such as shot put and discus. He enjoyed staying active and especially valued time spent working out with his brother Ethan.

Cameron was known for being funny, outgoing, and inclusive to everyone. He loved people, and he loved his family and friends. He also enjoyed cooking and was known for his protein pizza bowls. Traveling brought him great happiness, and some of his favorite places included Lake Erie, Florida, Rhode Island, and the West. He visited every National Park out West and loved the beach. Music was also part of what he enjoyed most, and Post Malone was his favorite musician.

Those who knew Cameron will remember a young man who embraced life fully, welcomed others warmly, and made lasting impressions through his kindness, humor, and generous spirit. He will be remembered as a bright, warm, and deeply engaging young man whose life touched many.

Cameron is survived by his parents, Ben and Andrea Lyon, brother, Ethan, grandparents, Keith & Cheryl Ketterman and Dr. Ralph Lyon, aunt  Amy, uncle Amir Rubin. and fiance' Abrielle Kerns. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Peg Lyon and uncle Robert Lyon.

Cameron Michael Lyon will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A visitation and celebration of life will be held at a later date in order to give Abrielle time to recover so she may also attend.
