She married the love of her life, Karl Knisley January 1st, 1957 on their Christmas break in Westerville, Ohio and he survives her at home. Carolyn found joy in many interests that reflected her lively and distinctive spirit. She loved pigs and took special pleasure in collecting them. Genealogy was one of her enduring interests, and she enjoyed spending time tracing family connections and histories. She was a devoted fan of OSU and Browns football, and she also enjoyed online shopping. Crafts and sewing were among her favorite pastimes, and she was always beginning new projects, even if they were not always brought to completion. She enjoyed writing letters and keeping in touch in that personal way. Carolyn dearly loved her animals, especially her kitties, and she took great happiness in her houseplants and flowers. She also enjoyed watching James Bond movies, with Sean Connery as her favorite Bond.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Kathy (Kevin) Landes and Karl E. Knisley, grandchildren, Shannon and Ashley, numerous special cousins and special kitty Shadow.
