1:00 - 5:00 pm (Eastern time)
James “Rusty” Russell Schilling III passed away unexpectedly on October 30, 2026, at the age of 41. Born Marion, Ohio on February 20, 1985, as the son of Jim and Kimberly (Ward) Schilling Jr. Rusty will be remembered as a loyal, hardworking, quiet, and friendly man whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and steady devotion to those around him. Rusty was a proud graduate of Marion Harding High School, Class of 2003. He went on to spend more than 20 years working various positions at Whirlpool, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and dedication. He married the love of his life, Jetaime Schaefer in Galion, Ohio August 8, 2018 and she survives him at home. Rusty was someone who valued honest work and the simple things in life, and those qualities were evident in the way he lived each day.
Above all, Rusty loved his family. He deeply loved his soulmate and wife, Jetaime, and treasured the life they built together with their children. He enjoyed the simple life and found happiness in the things that mattered most to him. He loved to farm and cared especially for his animals, with a special fondness for his pigs and turkeys. He also loved his cats, especially Mo and Bonnie. Rusty enjoyed riding motorcycles, cooking dinners on the BBQ and his smoker, and relaxing with a good cigar. He never met a stranger and was often the life of the party. He loved to aggravate everybody and was especially good at it, bringing humor and personality wherever he went.
Rusty leaves behind his beloved wife, Jetaime Schilling, and their children, Kathryn, Mackenzie, and Aiden, who were at the center of his heart and life. He is also survived by his sister, Heather Schilling, grandmothers, Mae Schilling and Rose Schilling, his mother and father-in-law, Chong (Aaron) Polston and his best friends Jordyn Gary and Logan Clemons. Each of them carries forward cherished memories of his love, humor, and steadfast presence.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Aaron Schilling; his grandfathers, James Schilling Sr., Larry Ward and Tom Bowen; his grandmothers, Susan Ward and Bonnie Bowen.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on November 8, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Timson & Melroy Funeral Home, 407 S. Main St, Caledonia, OH 43314. Memorial contributions may be made online or in person to the family to assist them financially as he was their sole provider.
Rusty will be remembered for the love he gave so freely, the laughter he inspired, and the strong, steady way he moved through life. His memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
The Timson & Melroy Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Rusty Schilling.
