Joey Lee
Shulaw
September 16, 1969 – May 4, 2026
Joey Lee Shulaw, age 56, a dedicated concrete truck driver, passed away at his residence on May 4, 2026. Born on September 16, 1969, in Bucyrus, Ohio as the son of the late Daniel and Margaret (DeJean) Shulaw, Joey was a proud graduate of Colonel Crawford High School’s class of 1988.
For over two decades, Joey was a familiar face at Buckeye Ready Mix, where he worked diligently as a concrete truck driver. His commitment to his work was emblematic of his strong work ethic, a characteristic that defined much of his life. Beyond his professional endeavors, many years ago, Joey gave back to his community as a volunteer fireman with Holmes Twp. Joey was known to be a true "workaholic", tirelessly striving for the well-being of his family, though he often expressed regret for not having more time to spend with them or time for too many hobbies. Outside of work, he found joy and freedom on his Harley motorcycle. He loved participating in Poker Runs and enjoyed taking his bike out for dinner excursions, keen on exploring new restaurants. His passion for Rock ’n Roll music was well-known, and he playfully delighted in sharing his eclectic music tastes with his children, sometimes much to their amusement or dismay. Joey also deeply cherished his dog and "furkid", Jasper, who was a constant companion. Jasper preceded him in death. In his earlier years, he was an avid duck hunter, a pastime that reflected his love for the outdoors.
Joey’s legacy lives on through his children and family. He is survived by his daughters Zoey and BreAnna Shulaw, son, Caleb Shulaw, and step-son Zachary Aidt. They remember him not only as a hardworking man and protector of his community but also as a father whose love was evident in every ride, every rock song, and every shared moment.
Joey Lee Shulaw will be remembered with affection by all who knew him, treasured for his unwavering dedication to his job, his spirited passions, and his love for his family and community.
In keeping with the family's wishes, there will be public services observed at this time. The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
The Timson & Melroy Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Joey Shulaw.
