Maddoxx “Dukey” Duke Holman, age 14 of Caledonia passed away on October 30, 2026, at Nationwide Children’s Hospital after a 2 month battle with brain cancer. Born in Galion, Ohio on March 9, 2012, as the son of Tyler and Krista (Kiplinger) Holman. Maddoxx brought energy, spirit, and a big presence to the lives of those who knew and loved him. Maddoxx was an 8th grader at River Valley School, where he was also a football player. He loved playing football. He loved the kind of life that kept him moving and outdoors. He was involved in 4-H and enjoyed showing cattle, especially his fair calves, Cheeto and Critter, who were among his favorite animals. Farming was close to his heart, and he loved baling hay and working with cattle. He also enjoyed working on and using snowmobiles, tractors, 4-wheelers, and lawnmowers.
He found happiness in simple and memorable moments, whether fishing at Lake Erie with Dustin and Steve, helping Todd Schaeffer with his pigs, or spending time outside doing the things he loved most. Maddoxx was a fan of Michigan football and the Cleveland Browns, and he had a special love for Ford pickup trucks and his dogs. He also had a playful spirit, picking on his siblings and, most of all, giving his mom and dad hell in the way only a deeply loved son could.
He will be deeply missed by his mother and father, Krista and Tyler Holman; his brother and sister, Mack and Maddalynn Holman; his grandmothers, Cindy Holman and Sherri Kiplinger; his uncles, Andrew and Shawn Wilkoski and Kreig Kiplinger; his second parents, Dustin and Andrea Bayles and their children, Carter and Audrey and his special sweetheart Callie Street. Each of them shared in the joy of Maddoxx’s life and the love that surrounded him. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jerry Holman and Gary Kiplinger.
