Robert "Bob" Carl Stayner, age 63, peacefully passed away on June 15th at the OSU Wexner/Rhodes Hall. Leaving behind a legacy marked by devoted family ties, a strong work ethic, and a zest for life that touched all who knew him. Born February 28th, 1963 in Marion, Ohio, as the son of the late Carold Jr. and Doris (Walters) Stayner. A graduate of River Valley's Class of 1982, Bob dedicated 27 years of his career to Nucor Steel in Marion, where he worked diligently as a crane operator. His commitment and skill were evident to colleagues and friends alike. Bob married Carol Dye August 22, 2018 in Las Vegas and she survives him at home.

Bob was a man who could fix just about anything. Whether it was a car, motorcycle, household project, or a problem someone couldn’t solve, he was always the first person family and friends called for help. He took pride in working with his hands and could often be found in his garage, tinkering on vehicles, making repairs, or taking on his next project.

One of Bob’s greatest passions was motorcycles. He loved the freedom of the open road and the friendships that came with riding. Whether he was out on a ride or talking bikes with friends, motorcycles were more than a hobby—they were part of who he was. Bob was also an avid Coca-Cola collector, taking great pride in the collection he built over the years. His interests reflected his appreciation for nostalgia, craftsmanship, and the simple joys in life. He also had a deep love for 80s music and could often be found listening to his favorite songs, enjoying the memories and energy they brought. Whether it was classic rock, pop hits, or the soundtrack of a road trip, the music of that era always held a special place in his heart.

Those who knew Bob would describe him as stubborn, opinionated, and never afraid to tell you exactly what he thought. Yet those same qualities came from a place of deep care. He was always willing to offer advice, lend a helping hand, or be there when someone needed him. His family and friends knew that no matter the situation, Bob would show up. Above all, Bob loved his family. The lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the unwavering support he gave will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Bob’s heart was most full when surrounded by his beloved family. He treasured his role as a grandfather and found immense joy in spending time with Carter, Carson, Owen, Jackson, Alaina, Asher, and Baylor. His daughters, Cheyenne (Cole) Hess and Breanna (Dustin) Horn, and son Harley Stayner, along with his siblings Mike Stayner, Rick Stayner, Ralph (Cathy) Stayner, Linda Miller, and Janet (Bill) Evans as well as many nieces and nephews continue to honor his memory with love and admiration. Bob is preceded in death by his brother, David Stayner.

Visitation for Bob will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Friday June 19th at the Timson & Melroy Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 20th at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home with graveside service to follow in Caledonia Cemetery.

Bob’s legacy is one of strength, loyalty, generosity, and perseverance. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
