Theodore “Ted” Frederick Hopkins, age 75, passed away on October 17, 2026 at Unger Park Post Acute. He was born in Marion, Ohio on June 27, 1951 as the son of the late Charles and Florence (Niles) Hopkins. Ted was a 1971 graduate of River Valley High School. He married the love of his life Cheryl Wade in Caledonia, Ohio June 11th, 1977 and she survives him at home. Ted went on to build a long and steady career as a factory worker at Boise Cascade, where he retired after 40 years of dedicated service. Quiet by nature and a bit of a homebody, he lived a life marked by consistency, loyalty, and deep affection for the people and simple pleasures that meant the most to him.

Above all, Ted loved his family. He also loved his dogs, especially Cocoa and Zeus. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and camping and he found pleasure in listening to classic rock music. He was also known for his playful side; when Cheryl had her daycare, Ted enjoyed teasing and annoying the children in her care, bringing laughter and personality to those everyday moments.

Ted is survived by his sons, Andrew (Rose Hawkins) Hopkins, and Nathan (Tiffany) Hopkins, "daughter" Stormy Hopkins, his brother, Alfred Beringer, and his grandchildren; Carolyn, Oliver, Sydney and Isaiah as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered with love by those who knew him and by the family who remained at the center of his life.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Patrick Hopkins, and by his sisters, Linda Hopkins, Diane Rowland, and Jean Hopkins, as well as by his beloved dog, Cocoa.

Visitation will be held on October 29, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Timson & Melroy Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow there at 1:30 p.m. with James McIntire officiating. Inurnment will be in Caledonia Cemetery.

Ted’s memory will be cherished for his quiet presence, his devotion to family, and the familiar joys that shaped his life.
