Bobbie Jared Boyd, age 83, of Marion passed away on Wednesday evening November 17th 2010 at DeWolfe House of Marion. He was born April 16, 1927 in Simpson County Kentucky the son of the late Henry Burvin Boyd and Mamie Hayes (Huffines) Boyd. He graduated from the Kirkpatrick School. Bobbie married the former Elizabeth A. Speece on October 6, 1946 in Kirkpatrick, and she survives in Marion. He was a farmer for forty years, served as a Scott Township Trustee for 36 � years, worked for the Marion County Engineer for nine years, president of the Marion County Farm Bureau for two years, and as a member of the Grand Prairie School Board. Bobbie was a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church and served as their treasurer. He enjoyed woodworking and welding. Left to cherish his memory are his three children: Vicki (George) Johnson of Ft. Wayne, IN, Steven (Karen) Boyd of Tampa, FL, and Marcia Linhart of Louisville, KY, six grandchildren: Joel (Lisa) Wilhelm, Beth Ann Wilhelm, Nathan (Cathy) Boyd, Lesley (Kevin) Morris, Kendall Linhart and Kathleen Linhart, eight great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, one sister: Brenda (Larry) Blessing of Ashland, one uncle: Lawrence Huffines of Washington State and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Bobbie was preceded in death by two sisters: Doris Hales and Dorothy Boyd. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, November 19, 2010, at the Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday November 20, 2010, in the Liberty United Methodist Church in Kirkpatrick with the Rev. John Grimm officiating. Private burial will be in the Grand Prairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty United Methodist Church or the Hospice at Marion General Hospital.
