Carol Ann Ault

Carol Ann Ault, age 86, of Caledonia, Ohio passed away December 4th, 2023 at Marion General Hospital. Carol was born in Marion, Ohio, May 25th, 1937 as the daughter of the late Clark and Glenna Farley. She married Gene “Pops” Ault August 4th, 1956 and he preceded her in death October 7th, 2018. Carol was a 1955 graduate of Caledonia High school and a lifelong member of the Caledonia Memorial Methodist Church. Carol was a member of the Last Chance Seniors of Caledonia and a former 4-H advisor. Carol is known for her community involvement with the Friends of Caledonia and enjoyed participating in their events. Carol and Gene are most notably known for running the Dance Factory in Caledonia which they started in the basement of their home in 1973. Carol even taught ballet to the River Valley Football team. Carol was an avid reader of mysteries and romance novels, loved watching game shows and sewing. She enjoyed playing euchre even though she often threw out a card that Gene didn’t want. Carol was a great cook and known for her candy making skills, especially her taffy and hard tack. Most of all, Carol loved her family and her “kids” at the dance studio. Carol and Gene touched a lot of lives and hearts at the studio. Carol will be missed by her children, Gary Ray Ault, Christy (Mike) Frank, Andi (Clyde) Knipp, Susan (Tim) DeBolt, Cathy Marshall and Maxine (Bob) Staffo, grandchildren; Evan, Taylor, Dylan, Kelly, Samantha, Jessica and Kasi; great grandchildren; Lizzi, Haydn, Nathan, Delainy, Tyler, Ciera, Silas, Nicholas and Carson; four great great grandchildren and nephews; Phil, Doug, Bryan and Ty and granddog Jethro. Carol is preceded in death her sister, Sally Rhodes and brother-in-law Jim Rhodes. Friends may call from 3:00 - 7:00 PM Sunday, December 17th at the Timson & Melroy Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held Monday, December 18th at 11:00 AM at the Caledonia Memorial Methodist Church with Pastor Terry Burkhardt officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to 1st Consolidated Fire Dept.  P.O. Box 305, Caledonia, Ohio 43314 or to the Friends of Caledonia 501(c)3, P. O. Box 164, Caledonia, Ohio 43314 or plant a tree in her memory from this site.
