Darrell Earl Keirns

Darrell Earl Keirns, a beloved member of the Marion, Ohio community, passed away on May 1, 2024, at OSU Hospital. He was born on April 10, 1945, in Marion, Ohio to John Keirns and Mayme "Bert" (Elliot).
 
Darrell dedicated 37 years of his life working in the U.S. Postal Service in Marion, Ohio. He also worked for many years as a Firemen for 1^st Consolidated Fire District and was part of the original EMT Group for the squad. He was a proud Ridgedale High School graduate and found joy in his retirement years pursuing hobbies such as fishing, hunting (anything that moved), and gardening.
 
Known for his friendly and welcoming demeanor, Darrell's personality shone brightly through his love for family and friends. He took great pride in watching his grandchildren play sports and grow up, cherishing every moment spent with them. His warm smile and outgoing nature meant he never met a stranger and had an abundance of friends who admired him greatly.
 
Among his proudest accomplishments were his active role as a member of the Caledonia Church of Christ, leading the Church Youth Group for over 30 years with his first wife Janice, and his dedicated volunteer work at the Kirkpatrick Food Pantry. He was also a noted vocalist and sang in church as well as other venues by request.
 
Darrell will be deeply missed by his surviving family: his loving wife Juanita (Goddard) Keirns whom he married September 6, 2016; sons Kevin Keirns and Adam (Sarah) Keirns; grandchildren Samantha, Bryson, Aubrey, and Cierra. 
 
He now joins his parents John Keirns and Mayme "Bert," along with other deceased family members including his first wife Janice (Mason) Keirns, they were married Oct. 31, 1964, son Darrin Keirns and siblings Byron Keirns, Ernest Keirns, Dewayne Keirns, and Delores Keirns.
 
Friends may call May 6th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and May 7th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Timson & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia. The funeral service will take place on May 7th at 11:00 AM at the Timson Melroy Funeral Home with David Braxton officiating. Interment to follow in Caledonia Cemetery.
 
Darrell Earl Keirns will forever be remembered for his generosity, genuine kindness, and unwavering love for his family. May he rest in peace knowing he left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Memorial contributions may be made in Darrell's memory to the Caledonia Church of Christ. 300 N.
