Donald E. Myers, age 88 of Edison passed away Saturday December 26th, 2015 in Marion General Hospital. Don was born on October 26th, 1927 in Belmont, Ohio as the son of the late Thomas & Gladys (Mercer) Myers. He was a graduate of Caledonia High School, a Navy Veteran of World War II and an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Don was employed at numerous business's in the area including Tecumseh Products, B.F. Goodrich and Sears & Roebuck where he retired as the Lawn & Garden Department Supervisor. He also farmed for most of his life. He was a 60 year member of Oliver Lodge #447 F & AM. Don was an avid Buckeye fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons. On September 03rd, 1960 he married the former Shirley Blackford and raised their family with her until her death on April 20, 2010. Don will remembered and missed by his sons Mark and David (Lisa) Myers of Edison, his grandchildren Shawn (Tia) Myers, Brock Myers, Madison, Luke & Delany Myers. His great grandchildren are Zaida, Novaleigh, Cohan and Elliot Myers. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law Frances Myers of Edison. He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas. Funeral Services for Donald Myers will be held on Wednesday morning at 11:00 A.M. December 30th 2015 at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia with Jimmy Butters officiating. Interment will follow the service in Caledonia Cemetery with military honor provided by the Marion County Veteran's Council. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday where the family will receive them from 6:00 until 8:00. Masonic services will be conducted at 8:00 following calling hours by Olive Lodge No. #447. Memorial contributions may be made to Oliver Lodge #447 F & AM or the American Cancer Society.
