Donna Ruth Wade

Donna Ruth Wade, age 87, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on July 5, 2024, at Marion General Hospital in Marion, Ohio. Born on December 18, 1936, in Marion, as the daughter of the late Clarence and Velma (Korner) Koons. Donna was a dedicated School Bus driver for River Valley for 25 years and MARCA. Her commitment to safely transporting children to and from school touched the lives of many in the community. Donna married Richard Wade May 9th, 1956 and he preceded her in death March 2nd, 2011.

Donna's love for her family was unparalleled. She is survived by her loving children Karen (Michael) Foltz, Joe Wade, Cheryl (Ted) Hopkins, James Wade, Jerry Wade, Joshua (Nicole) Wade, as well as her cherished grandchildren;  Andrew, Nathan, Kimberly, Brian, Kathleen, Samantha, Maggie, Jennifer, Cartier and Stormy, 15 great grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, brother Glen Koons and sister Clara Bolander. She was a pillar of strength and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Donna was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Koons.

Outside of work and family life, Donna found joy in cooking delicious meals for everyone around her. She loved to feed everyone who came into her home. Her quilting and sewing skills were admired by many. When the children were younger, she and Richard loved to travel in his pick-up camper and together visited 46 states. Donna added 2 more states after Richard's passing. Something she was very proud of. 

Visitation will be held for Donna on July 8th, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Timson & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia. The funeral service will take place on July 9th at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Amy Barr officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Heights Cemetery. .

Donna Ruth Wade leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be treasured by those whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace.
