Douglas "Doug" Allen Healea, age 63, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026 at Presidential Post Acute. Doug was born in Galion, Ohio as the son of the late Jimmy and Nancy (Lynch) Healea. He was a cherished member of his community and dedicated to his family, epitomizing the qualities of a proud uncle, with a profound love for his nieces and nephews and a strong connection to those he held dear.
Doug loved fishing with friends and family, and shared countless treasured moments while camping at Charles Mill Lake. His enthusiasm for life was often matched only by his cherished interests in music, particularly his love for Elvis gospel tunes. He contributed his time and efforts at Dugout Pizza helping Doug, demonstrating his willingness to lend a hand whenever possible. He was a member of the Caledonia Church of Christ, where he found joy and purpose in fellowship with others. His family was of utmost importance to him, and his legacy will be carried on by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Doug is survived by his brother, Mike (Angela) Healea; sisters, Jackie (Robin) Vaughn and Lori (Duane) Rhodes; nephews, Tyler (Michelle) Walters, Seth (Ashley) Vaughn, Nicholas (Katie) Vaughn, Brayden Vaughn, Jaxon Caudill, RJ Persinger and Derek (Ashley) Persinger as well as many great and great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved nephews, Destin Walters and Zach Ladoucer.
Friends and family may gather for Doug's visitation at the Timson & Melroy Funeral Home, on January 28, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM with David Braxton officiating. Graveside service will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. ***Due to weather conditions, there will not be a public graveside***
Douglas Allen Healea will be remembered not only for his proud and warm spirit but also for the love he shared with all those around him. His influence and love will be missed but never forgotten.
