Gary Wayne Weir

Gary Wayne Weir, age 76 of Willard, Ohio, passed away Friday, February 4th, 2022 at Mansfield General. Gary was born November 2nd, 1945 in Marion, Ohio as the son of  the late John R. Weir and Doris Frausch (Sullivan). He married the love of his life, Stella Tharp June 19th, 1990 in Willard, Ohio and she survives him at home. Gary was a 1963 graduate of Colonel Crawford High School and went into the Navy soon after where he was a Petty Officer. Gary was a member of the American Legion Post 181 and the Aladdin Shrine of Bucyrus. Gary was also a Master Mason, 32 degree Scottish Rite and a member of the Oliver Lodge 447 in Caledonia. Gary never met a stranger, he talked to everyone and loved socializing. He enjoyed being on his tractor mowing his lawn and watching OSU Football and racing. Gary had a saying to live by “ Never let your Battleship mouth overload your rowboat ass”.  Something we can all relate to. Gary is survived by his children, Ryan (Gretchen Jewett) Weir, Patrick Weir, Sarah Steich, Annette Bryant and Bridget (David Bickel) Row, grandchildren, Zane Row, Maggie Weir, Kinsley Bickel, Maisey Bickel and Rachel Forsythe, sister, Peggy (Ron) Shawber, sister-in-law, Karen Weir and fur baby Gabby. Gary is preceded in death by brother Robert Weir.  Friends may call at the Timson & Melroy Funeral Home from 11:00 to 1:00 P.M Tuesday, February 8th.  Services will follow at the funeral home at 1:00 with Oliver Lodge 447 and Pastor Mike Corwin officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
