Glenda Dale Markle, age 75 of Caledonia, passed away Thursday morning September 08th, 2016 in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. Glenda was born August 25th 1941 as the daughter of the late Forrest and Dessie (Dean) Hipsher. She was a graduate of Caledonia High School and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the operating room at Marion General Hospital. Glenda attended Richland Road Church of Christ when she was able. She was a woman of deep faith. She loved to laugh, even in tough times. She was a passionate fan of the Buckeyes. She enjoyed crafting and volunteering. She was especially proud of serving the Kirkpatrick Food Pantry and made many trips to the Mid-Ohio Food pantry. For relaxation Glenda enjoyed trips to Lake Erie and camping at Riverbend. On July 12th, 1970 she married Philip L. Markle. He preceded her in death on September 7th, 2002. Glenda is survived by her son Derek (Wendy) Markle of Marion and her Grandson Mason Markle of Caledonia and her two step-grandchildren whom she loved; Preston Nagel and Alexander Simpkins of Marion. Glenda was the last of her family. She was preceded by her brothers Karl & Raymond Hipsher and her sisters Jenola Kazee, Theresa Paxton and Evelyn Hipsher. Glenda was also preceded by her companion James L. Smith April 21, 2013. Funeral Services for Glenda Markle will be held at 10:00 Wednesday September 14th, 2016 at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia with David Lucas officiating. Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 -8. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Kirkpatrick Food Pantry.
