James Shelton

James (Cowboy) Shelton, age 63, Iberia, passed away Monday morning September 24th, at The OSU Medical Center in Columbus. He was born on September 16th, 1949 in Richlands, VA as the son of Otis & Dorothy (Ball) Shelton. He married Sandy (Robinett) Shelton and she survives him at home. Mr. Shelton was employed as a truck driver for Earthworm Construction in Iberia. He is also survived by his Step-mother Dixie Shelton and her companion Harold Oyster of Mt. Gilead, his son Joshua Shelton of Iberia, three daughters, Georganna Shelton of Bucyrus, Sabrina Shelton of Marion and Tina Smith of Galion. Two step-daughters also survive, Jenny VerBerg of Shiloh and Sandra Strouse of Mansfield. There are fifteen grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters, David Shelton, Lawrence Shelton, Lee Shelton, Jack Shelton, Rose Welsh, Diane Shelton and Rita Smith. He was preceded in death by one brother. Graveside for James Shelton will be held at 3:00 Thursday in Iberia Cemetery with Pastor Patricia Fruth officiating. Friends may call at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home on Thursday from 12:30 - 2:30.
