Janet Elkins

Janet S. Elkins, age 59 of Marion passed away early Thursday morning in Marion General Hospital. She was born in Marion on February 20th, 1954 as the daughter of the late Harvey & Jean (Barker) Napier. Janet was a graduate of River Valley High School and Marion Technical College. She worked for many years as a cashier at the Marion K-Mart and more recently Wal-Mart. When at home Janet enjoyed baking, especially peanut butter cookies. She was very fond of her pets. In November of 1974 she married Marvin Elkins. He survives her at home. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda (Mike) Howard of Martel and Brenda (Larry) Hardin of Mt. Gilead. She also leaves behind several nieces & nephews. Graveside Services for Janet will be held Monday morning September 16th in Caledonia Cemetery at 11:00. Friends may call at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 5:00 Memorial Contributions may be made to the Marion County Humane Society.
