Jerry Lee Pletcher age 72 of Rural Caledonia, passed away Friday morning April 13th, 2018 at the Kobacker House in Columbus. Jerry was born in Mansfield on January 31st, 1946 as the son of the late Floren & Lydia (Miller) Pletcher. In 1965 he married Sharon Kay Hotteling. She preceded him in death March 27th, 2013. Jerry was a U. S. Army veteran and had served a tour of duty in Vietnam. Jerry always considered himself a farmer and a staunch "John Deere" man. He also worked at various other places off the farm including Tecumseh, Lemeke's Implements, Walmart and Iberia Fabricating. He loved his vegetable gardens and liked working in his woodworking shop building lawn furniture and bird houses. For fun he would browse Flea Markets and Tractor Shows. Jerry leaves behind his three children; Bryan Pletcher of Marysville, Lee Pletcher of Marion and Paula Pletcher of Mt. Gilead. He will be pleasantly remembered by his grandchildren Zach & Hayden Pletcher. His memory will be cherished by his sisters, Ruth Ann (Dick) Dutton of Marion, Norma Rakes of Middlefield and Betty Stanforth of Marion. Jerry was preceded in death by his brothers Ken & Richard Pletcher. Funeral Services for Jerry will be held on Tuesday April 17th, 2018 at the Timson & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia at 2:00. Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors.
