Katherine Amanda Robinson

Listen to Obituary

Katherine Amanda Robinson, age 92, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026 surrounded by her family. Born May 26, 1934 in Mooresburg, TN as the daughter of the late Andrew and Beulah (Isenberg) Sliger. Katherine married the love of her life Carl Robinson Sr. August 23, 1958 and he survives her at home. Raised with values of compassion and service, Katherine pursued her calling as a school teacher, dedicating over thirty years to instructing and inspiring students in Caledonia, Chesterville and Iberia. Her love of learning began early, culminating in the achievement of a BS in Education from East Tennessee State University—a foundation she built upon throughout her long and meaningful career.

A devoted member of her community, Katherine drew great pride from her involvement with the Caledonia Memorial Methodist Church. She was also active in several organizations, including the Eastern Star, Vera Chapter #64, Rebekah’s Lodge, and the Knights of Pythias, Pythian Sisters. Her service and leadership touched many within these circles, leaving an indelible mark on all who worked alongside her.

Katherine’s joys outside the classroom were many. She delighted in cultivating her flower garden, took pleasure in feeding and watching the birds, and found relaxation in her love of crossword puzzles and board games. Creativity flowed from her hands as she made Buckeye jewelry, while her adventurous spirit came alive during boating and camping trips on Lake Erie with various lodge organizations. In earlier days, she enjoyed attending poker runs on their motorcycle—a testament to her vibrant spirit and love of life. Visits to Tennessee to spend time with family were especially cherished, and her greatest happiness was found surrounded by loved ones. She was also an animal lover, loved her kitties and often fed many of the strays and neighbor's cats.

Katherine’s heart always belonged to her family. She is survived by her sons, C. Paul (Jana) Robinson Jr. and John (Michelle) Robinson, and her daughter, Margaret (Grant) Garverick. Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren: Nichole (Chris) Spear, Shannon (David) Baldwin, Trevor (Andrea) Robinson, Madeline (Michael) Newman, Gillian (Jacob) Garverick, Stephen (Kate) Schelb, and Katie Schelb, her great-grandchildren: Brock, Brazen, Brantley, Aubrie, Khloe, Kyler, Hailey, and Derrick as well as her furkids Cali and Tiger. Each of them carries forward the values and warmth she so generously shared. She is preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Jackson Sliger.

Visitation for Katherine will be from 12:00 - 1:00 p. m., Monday, July 20th at the Timson & Melroy Funeral Home. Funeral and Eastern Star service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Terry Burkhardt officiating. A graveside service will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Bucyrus. There will be a fellowship at the church for all to attend at 3:30.

Katherine Amanda Robinson’s legacy of kindness, dedication, and unwavering love will be carried forward by those whose lives she changed. Her memory will be forever cherished.
