Lester Harley Foos

Lester Harley Foos was called home to heaven by our Lord Jesus Christ on November 17, 2025, at the age of 96. He was born on February 7, 1929, in Marion OH to the late Harley and Ruth (Simmons) Foos. He married the love of his life, Janice Corbin, on May 15, 1951. He was preceded in death by his wife Janice, his son Steven, and siblings Eugene and Kenneth Foos, Hazel Hackworth and Leora Shieffer.

Lester was a 1947 graduate of Claridon High School. In addition to being a lifelong farmer, he also managed his own custom home contracting business with his brother Kenneth for over 25 years. Lester was a Member of Oliver Lodge #447 F.& A.M. for over 60 years and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus. He served as President, promoting community interests, in the Claridon Township Zoning Commission for 25 plus years. Additionally, Lester served on the Regional Zoning Commission for many years. These activities were instrumental in coordinating the development of the business district on Route 95 east of Marion. Throughout his life, Lester supported those in the community in times of hardship or personal need without regard for his personal circumstance or consideration.

Lester enjoyed fishing, boating, reading about history, and visiting historical sites. He was very educated in the history of his community and often shared this knowledge with family and friends.

Lester is survived by his loving family, including his son Michael (Deborah) Foos, daughters Teresa (Pat) Fullenkamp and Amy (Stephen) Clement, sister Mildred Foos; grandchildren Tiffany, William, Cody, and Emily; great grandchildren Gracie, Warren, and Calvin. He will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends.

Visitation will be held on November 20, 2025, at the Timson and Melroy Funeral Home located at 407 S Main St. Caledonia OH from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with Masonic services to follow. A funeral service to celebrate and honor Lester’s life will take place the following day November 21, 2025, at 1:00 PM at  the Timson and Melroy Funeral Home with Mark Watkins officiating. Interment will be in Caledonia cemetery.
