Lois Baker

Lois Louise Baker, age 95� formerly of Caledonia� passed away on Wednesday evening March 25th, 2009 in Community Health Care Center in Marion,.� Lois was born in Illinois on June 16, 1913, the daughter of the late Alva & Maude (Wood) Lindley. She was a graduate of Radnor High School.�� In 1936 she married Simon A. Baker.� He preceded her in death in 1978.� Lois was a resident of Caledonia and Marion for most of her adult life.� She was a member of the Caledonia Church of Christ but made it her rule to be active in whatever church she was attending. Lois also worked with her granddaughter Michelle at the "Stitch and Fix" sewing shop in Marion for a few years.� She will be remembered as a tremendous cook, especially for her apple crisp along with chicken and noodles.�Her family was always the biggest part of her life.� As long as Lois was able she was active in the lives of her children ,� grandchildren and great grandchildren.. Her memory will be cherished by her son and daughter-in-law Lowell & Anne Baker of Statesville, NC and her daughter and son-in-law Phyllis & Robert Hill of Marion. Five grandchildren; Ken Baker, Gina Wardwell, Michelle Wilson, Chris Hill and Renee Cassell.� 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.� She is also survived by her sister Rachel Jamison of Hendersonville, NC. And her half brother Alva Lindley Jr. of Florida.���� She was preceded in death by four brothers; Frank, Leroy, Orian & Clyde Lindley�� and four sisters;� Gladys Burton, Grace Redmon, Ann Wilhelm and Rosemary Lindley.�Celebration�Services for Lois' life will be held on� Tuesday March 31st, at the Celebration Christian Church in Marion� at 11:00 with Gary Desanto officiating.�Interment will follow in Meeker Cemetery.�� Friends may call at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia� on� Monday� where the family will receive them from 2 - 4, 6 - 8.� Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Heartland.�
