With deep love and fond remembrance, we celebrate the life of Lois Colleen Plumley—known simply and affectionately as Colleen—who peacefully passed away on June 19, 2025, in Kennesaw, Georgia, just a day before her 89th birthday. Born on June 20, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois, Colleen’s bright smile and kind heart left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
For nearly seven decades, Colleen shared a beautiful and devoted marriage with her beloved husband, John D. Plumley. Together, they nurtured a loving family, raising three children, and delighting in the joy and laughter of their three cherished grandchildren.
A true book lover, Colleen often lost herself in the enchanting stories of the Outlander Series. She enjoyed the lively mental games of Scrabble, Words with Friends, Pinochle, and Euchre, always relishing the fun and camaraderie they brought. But above all, Colleen treasured the moments spent surrounded by family and friends, soaking in the warmth and connection that meant everything to her. Her passion for travel led her many times to the United Kingdom, a place close to her heart, where she embraced the rich history, diverse cultures, and stunning landscapes—experiences she joyfully shared with her loved ones.
Colleen’s welcoming spirit and radiant smile naturally brightened every room she entered. Through life’s ups and downs, her grace and resilience were a beacon of strength and hope, inspiring family and friends to embrace life with open hearts and joyful spirits. Her loving presence will forever be missed but lives on in the beautiful memories she created.
She is lovingly survived by her husband John; their sons, Dan (married to Izabela) and Jeff (married to Renee); their daughter Jennifer; and her grandchildren Justin (and his wife Rumela), Connor, and Caitlin (and her husband Josh).
