Mary E. Chiles
Mary E. Chiles age 84 of Caledonia passed away Wednesday afternoon July 18th, 2007 in her residence after a long battle with cancer. Mary was born in Caledonia on September 24th, 1922 the daughter of the late LeRoy and Edith (Karcher) Redman. On January 23rd, 1955 she married Franklin E. Chiles. He preceded in her death on February 11th, 2001. Mary was a 1941 graduate of Caledonia High School. She was a former employee of North Electric in Galion and retired after many years as a cook in the River Valley School System. She was an active member of the Caledonia Church of Christ and a former of the Deborah - Rebekah Lodge in Caledonia . . She enjoyed playing word search and loved to bake cookies. Her children and grandchildren were her life. Surviving her are her two sons and their wives; Gary & Marilyn Chiles and Daniel & Jane Chiles of Marion. She is survived by her Five daughters and their husbands; Doris & Curtis Hankins of Columbus, Barb & Mark Jamison of Caledonia, Dixie & Tom Lyon of Caledonia, Patricia Lemaster and Karen Sullivan of Bucyrus. Fourteen Grandchildren and fourteen Great Grandchildren . Mary is also survived by her two sisters: Mrs. Norma Jean (Ed) Van Horn of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Eunice Howell of Marion. She was preceded in death by One Brother and Three sisters.
Funeral Services for Mary will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday morning July 21st in the Caledonia Church of Christ with Kenneth Boswell officiating. Burial will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia on Friday between the hours of 6:00 and 9:00. Memorial contributions may be made to the Caledonia Church of Christ.
