Matthew Wayne Martin

Matthew " Matt" Wayne Martin, age 46, passed away peacefully at his residence on April 25, 2025. Matt was born July 17th, 1978 in Mansfield, Ohio as the son of the late Max Gerald and Beverly Irene (Owens) Martin.  A proud graduate of Madison High School, class of 1995, Matthew dedicated his life to his career as an OTR driver for Dutchmaid out of Willard, Ohio and Western Express out of Tennessee, where he was known for his unwavering reliability. 

Matthew was much more than a devoted professional; he was a passionate outdoorsman whose heart thrived in the warmth of nature. He loved fishing at Charles Mill and Clear Fork, where every cast brought him closer to serenity. Dogs held a special place in his heart, particularly his beloved furkid, Murphy, whom he adored taking to Clear Fork to splash joyfully in the water. It was during these moments that Matthew’s spirit shone the brightest—his laughter echoing across lakes and rivers was a testament to the joy he found in simple pleasures. He taught Tracy's nieces Heaven, Tayla and Autumn how to drive by letting them drive on the back roads. 

In addition to his love for nature, Matthew cherished moments spent in the company of his “adopted family,” Chad, Bri, and Jase. With them, he built friendships that felt like home and created a tapestry of shared experiences that he treasured deeply. He loved Tracy's children with his whole heart and loved his grandson Jase dearly. Whether they were enjoying a day at Marblehead or relishing the friendly competition at the bowling alley. Matthew's spirit of camaraderie and affection for those he loved was palpable. Matthew was also a member of the Enterprise Baptist Church, where he found a deeper connection and purpose.

He is survived by his significant other, Tracy Rank, who stood by him through life's ups and downs, sharing in the joys and adventures that made every day a little brighter. His adopted/bonus family, Chad Jr., Bri and Jase Rank, "brother-in laws" Mike, BJ Martin, Brian Martin and Jason (Brandy) Martin) numerous nieces and nephews, his furkids, Murphy, Chelsea, Mogli and Bailey and grand furkids Guss, Gretta and George.

In keeping with Matt's wishes, there will be no services observed.
