Melody Anne McClenathan age 69 of Edison passed away at home surrounded by her family on Saturday May 28th, 2016. Melody was born January 9th, 1947 in Marion as the daughter of Jay & Maxine (Lusch) McCurdy. On December 22nd, 1966 she married Roger McClenathan and he survives her at home. Melody was a graduate of River Valley High School and the Marion General Hospital School for Practical Nursing. Melody worked at Marion Manor Nursing Home for over 40 years and was still going in to help in whatever way she could. She was a faithful member of the Caledonia Memorial United Methodist Church where she served as wedding coordinator and chairperson of the worship committee. Her favorite activity was decorating the sanctuary for the different seasons, especially Christmas. Melody always liked keeping herself busy. She enjoyed crafts such as cross-stitch, needle point, knitting and ceramics. She was a great cook and enjoyed watching her family eat. Melody & Roger also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Alaska. Whatever her children and grandchildren were involved in Melody was there to cheer them on whether it was wrestling, soccer or cheerleading. Besides her husband of almost 50 years, Melody is survived by her children Jennifer McClenathan of Okeechobee Florida and Ryan & Cindy McClenathan of Marion. Grandchildren Hanna & Bailey, DJ & Maxine. Her great grandchildren are Jaydyn, Bentley & Braigen McClenathan. Funeral Services for Melody will be held on Thursday June 2nd at 11:00 at the Memorial United Methodist Church in Caledonia with the Rev. James Van Meter officiating. Interment will follow in Claridon Cemetery. Friends may call at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 4:00 until 8. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to Quality of Life Hospice of Marion General Hospital.
