It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael "Mike" Andrew Neuse, age 44, a beloved son, brother, and friend, who left this world too early on June 17, 2025, while fulfilling a work contract in Augusta, Georgia. Born on August 7, 1980, in Marion, Ohio, as the son of Mark and Vicki (Phillians) Neuse. A proud graduate of Warren Central High School in Indianapolis in 1999, Mike demonstrated a tireless work ethic that propelled him into a successful career in construction, where he was employed by MSI Construction. His hands were not just tools for labor; they were also instruments of art, as he expressed his love for woodworking and building things that brought joy to those around him. His skills reflected a mind filled with imagination and ingenuity, and his creations will continue to be cherished by those fortunate enough to have received them. Mike married Tonia Cook August 8th, 2021 in Seymour, Indiana and she passed away July 3rd, 2023.
Mike was not only a devoted craftsman but also an enthusiastic explorer of the written word, with a particular fondness for Science Fiction that fueled his imagination. An avid reader, he could often be found engrossed in a book, embarking on journeys crafted by the greatest literary minds. His insatiable curiosity extended beyond the pages — a true outdoorsman at heart, Mike found peace and fulfillment in fishing and camping, relishing in the beauty of nature. Moreover, his love for animals showcased his gentle spirit and compassion, highlighting the depth of his character.
His family, who meant the world to him, will forever carry the weight of his absence. Mike is survived by his devoted father, Mark Neuse, and loving mother, Vicki (Phillians), who nurtured his passion and dreams. He was a loving brother to his sister, Sara Neuse, and was deeply cherished by his grandmother, Jessie Brosey. Mike is also survived by his aunts, Teri Pickett, Linda (Kevin) Weller and Mary (Neuse) Ellis, alongside a close-knit circle of uncles — Mark, Michael, and Christopher Phillians, his cat Gizmo and his new dog Lady. Their hearts are forever imprinted with beautiful memories of laughter, warmth, and love shared with him.
Mike's legacy will be eternally honored by those who knew and loved him, and while he is reunited with his wife Tonia, uncles, Randy and Thomas Phillians and his beloved pup Sadie who have passed on before him, his spirit will reside in the hearts of his family and friends, guiding them through the days ahead.
Visitation for Mike will take place Thursday, June 26th from 11:00 to 1:00 at the Timson & Melroy Funeral Home, 407 S. Main Street Caledonia, Ohio 43314. Following the visitation, a funera; service will be held at 1:00PM. Mike will be laid to rest in Caledonia Cemetery.
As we reflect on Mike's life, we remember not only the milestones he achieved but the warmth he imparted to all who crossed his path. His legacy, woven with threads of artistry, connection, and adventure, will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know him. Mike Neuse, a man of integrity, creativity, generosity and kindness, will be lovingly remembered, forever an indelible presence in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be dearly missed, but his memory will continue to inspire all whose lives he touched.
