Mildred J. Vaughn age 73 of Caledonia passed away Friday evening April 9th, 2010 in Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus after a short illness. She was born Sept. 04h 1936 in Marion County, the daughter of the late Ralph & Lucile (Rinker) Roesch. On August 05 1955 she married Barry Vaughn. He survives her at home. Midge was a 1954 graduate of Martel High School. She was a Librarian for the Caledonia Branch of the Marion Public Library for many years. She was a member of the Iberia United Methodist Church, Last Chance Seniors and the Bunco Club in Caledonia.
In her younger days she was a den mother for the local Cub Scout Pack. She loved walking and riding bicycle, going to garage sales with her friends and cheering on the Cleveland Indians. In her quiet moments she like to read and put together puzzles, but she loved being with her family the most. Besides her husband of over 50 years, Midge is survived by her sons; Robin (Jackie) Vaughn of Caledonia, R. Scott Vaughn of Marion and Jerry (friend Tammy Stephenson) Vaughn of Prospect . Her two daughters; Cathy (Ralph) Stayner of Edison and Shannon (Kevin) Whipple of Caledonia and her sister Joyce (Tom) Hayes of Caledonia. Grandchildren; Ronee (Lee) Berry, Andy (Laura) Berry, Seth, Nick and Brayden Vaughn, Scotty & Jordan Vaughn, Hannah, Lara & Kendra, Austin & Logan Whipple, Chandra & Miranda Johnson. Great Grandchhildren: Tyler & McKaylee, Aaron Miller, Kaylynne, Mashayla & McKenzie Berry, Kalab Crockett, Jaxon Caudill, Kearsten & Cadaen Vaughn. She will be dearly missed by her special friends; Ora & Tina Fitch, Elaine Trout and Eric & Lisa Meadows. She was preceded in death by her sister Betty Hissong and her daughter Jeanie Lynn Vaughn. Funeral Services for Midge will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday April 14th, 2010 at the Iberia United Methodist Church with the Pastor Pat Fruth officiating. Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 until 4 and 6 until 9 Memorial contributions may be made to Iberia United Methodist Church.
