Richard Henry Wade, age 80 of Caledonia passed away surrounded by his loving family Wednesday evening March 2nd, 2011 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus . He was born in Marion May 8, 1930, the son of the late Henry & Emma M. (Sinning) Wade. Richard worked at Clark Metal Product for almost 40 years. He served his country in the Army from 1951-1954. When his children were younger, he enjoyed traveling in his pick-up camper in 46 states. Richard spent a lot of time woodworking over the years in his "little blue building." He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed many summers at Indian Lake with his wife and brother-in-law/best friend, Gene Koons.
Richard was a member of Indian Lake Moose Lodge No. 1533. Richard will be remembered by all that knew him as a spunky, generous, loving family man. Richard is survived by his wife Donna (Koons) Wade of fifty-four (54) years, his six (6) children, Karen (Michael) Foltz, Joe (Elizabeth) Wade of Marion, Cheryl (Ted) Hopkins, James Wade, Jerry Wade, Joshua (Nicole) Wade of Caledonia; eight (8) grandchildren, Andrew (Candice) Hopkins, Nathan Hopkins of Newark, Ohio,
Kimberly (Casey) Claytor of Caledonia, Brian (Kaitrina) Foltz of Marion, Kathleen (Josh) Gates, Samantha, Maggie and Jennifer Wade of Caledonia, two (2) step-grandchildren, Christopher Foltz of Marion, Stormy Hopkins of Caledonia, three (3) great grandchildren, Carson Claytor, Gaige Gates, Isaiah Hopkins, four (4) step-great grandchildren, Summer Hopkins, Dillon Foltz, Hayden Foltz, and Alex Bushell, and many other family and friends. Richard was preceded in death his brother, Harold Wade. Funeral Services will be held on Monday March 7th, at 10:30 A.M. at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia. with Reverend David Lippert officiating. Interment will following in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 until 4:00 in the afternoon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association.
