Roy Paxton, age 87 of Caledonia passed away late Wednesday afternoon February 11th at home . Roy was born on May 13th, 1927 in Circleville as the son of the late Noah and Dora (Weaver) Paxton. He had resided in the Caledonia area for the past 61 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a retiree from Eaton Corporation where he worked as a Tool & Dye maker for over 30 years. Roy built his own home where he and Theresa raised their family and shared their life's with their children & grandchildren taking them hunting, camping, cycling and on other family activities. Roy was also involved with the youth in Caledonia by being active with Boy Scout Troop 68 as a committeeman and scoutmaster from 1966 until 1978. He was a member of the Caledonia Church of Christ. On January 30th 1953 He married the former Theresa Hipsher and they had 50 years together before her death in 2003. Roy is survived by his two daughters, Mary (Wayne) Pappert and Victoria Dutton of Caledonia. He will also be fondly remembered by his son R.D. (Sharon) Paxton of Morral as well as Doug (Denise) DeWalt of Marysville. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, Chris Paxton, David (Cristin) Pappert, Justin Dutton, Dena Meinhart, Jeremy (Jen) Stafford, Brandi (Rocky) Booth, Jenny (Brian) Raush, Brian (Jaime) Stafford, Tiffany & Tyler DeWalt and 13 great grandchildren. Roy was preceded in death by his 4 brothers and 4 sisters. He was also preceded by his daughter Dixie Stafford this past September. Funeral Services for Roy will be held at 10:00 A. M. Saturday February 14th, 2015 in the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia with Kenneth Boswell officiating. Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery with Military Rites provided by the Marion County Veteran's Council. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 - 9. Charitable contributions may be made to Troop 86 Boy Scouts of America.
