Ruby Marie Wickersham age 95 formerly of the Claridon area, passed away Sunday afternoon September 7th, 2008 in Marion Manor Nursing Home. Ruby was born May 13th, 1913 in Hodgenville, KY, the daughter of the late Oliver V. & Ella Mae (Hazel) Humphrey. Ruby was a 1931 graduate of Morral High School. During the Second World War she work at the Scioto Ordnance Depot. She was employed at Sears Roebuck & Co. in Marion until 1968. She was a member of the Marion Salem United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's Society. One of her favorite past-times was sewing for her family and friends. Ruby was preceded in death by her three husbands; James L. Bowman, Walter Hickson and Harry Wickersham. She is survived by her two sons and their wives James L. & Nancy Bowman of Marion and Robert & Joanne Bowman of Mt. Vernon. She is also survived by her daughter Betty McMurrin and her companion Ray LaVecchio of Phoenix, AZ. 15 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren. Ruby was the last of eight children. Funeral Services for Ruby M. Wickerson will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday September 11th in the Marion Salem United Methodist Church with the Reverends Brian Bowman and Jared Williams officiating. Friends may call at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia on Wednesday from 6 - 8. The family gratefully acknowledges the loving care by the staff at Marion Manor Nursing Home during the last years of her life. Memorial Contributions may be made to Marion Salem United Methodist Church, the Alzheimer's Association or Gideons International.
