Sharon Lee Gray

Sharon Lee Gray, age 80, of Caledonia passed away January 14th in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Marion, Ohio, on April 6, 1945, as the daughter of the late Dale R. and Virginia M. (Black) Chambers. Sharon married the love of her life George Gray, April 10th, 1945. They met in the summer of 1964 on the square in Caledonia, Ohio. George survives her at home. A dedicated stay-at-home mom until her children were grown, Sharon later found joy and fulfillment working at Werley's Bakery and in the garden center at Meijer in Marion, where her warm smile and kind demeanor left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A proud graduate of the Ridgedale class of 1963, Sharon embraced life with an infectious enthusiasm and a commitment to her passions. Her hobbies included oil painting, sewing, and an impressive talent for baking and cake decorating. She became well-known for her custom birthday and wedding cakes, which brought joy to countless celebrations.She had a love for animals, especially when Charlie the cat appeared in their life. Additionally, she was an expert wallpaper hanger, generously offering her skills to friends and family. Sharon was a member of the Caledonia American Legion Post #401 Auxiliary. She cherished the simple pleasures of life, often finding solace in watching the deer in the field behind her home, a pastime that brought her peace and joy.

Sharon leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory forward: her sons, Brian Gray (Tracy Duncum), Keith (Julie) Gray, and Dale (Cheryl) Gray. She wished for a girl but was blessed to be able to raise 3 wonderful boys!  Along with her cherished grandchildren Brendon, Jacob, Arre, Sephie, great grandchild Ivy and furkid Charlie. She is preceded in death by her sister Marjorie Curl, brother-in-law Ken Curl, and niece Becky Casto. Sharon's spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her, as her legacy of kindness, creativity, and love endures in the hearts of her family.

A graveside service will be held to honor Sharon’s life on January 19, 2026, at 1:00 in the Caledonia Cemetery with Mark Melroy officiating. Her family invites all who knew her to join in remembering a remarkable woman who brought immeasurable joy and love to their lives.
