Tonya Lynn Roque,age 48, a vibrant soul, passed away on December 16, 2025, at her residence in Florida. Born on December 29, 1976, in Marion, Ohio as the daughter of the Kenneth and Shirley (Gibson) Fissell, Shirley passed February 1, 2026, Tonya lived a life marked by love, joy, and a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures that brought meaning to her days. A proud graduate of Deland High School, Class of 1995, Throughout her life, she carried with her a spirit full of love and laughter. She was a woman who loved her son dearly and found great happiness in spending time with friends, always embracing opportunities for fun and connection.
Tonya's passions were as varied as they were heartfelt. She had a fondness for Daytona Beach, collecting shells and enjoying the sunshine. Her love for cooking was well known among those who had the pleasure of sharing meals with her, posting many recipes and dishes on her Facebook page. Her home was often filled with the comforting aromas of her culinary creations. Music and flowers were constant companions in her life, reflecting her gentle and vibrant spirit, while her affection for animals further showcased her compassionate nature. Throughout her life, she carried with her a spirit full of love and laughter.
She is survived by her beloved son, Antonio Roque, brother, Shawn Fissell, her Aunt Terry Gibson and Uncle Rick (Pam) Gibson, who held a treasured place in her heart. Tonya also leaves behind many friends who will remember her warmth and zest for life. She was predeceased by her Aunt Carolyn Coulter.
A graveside service to honor Tonya’s life will be held on May 29, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Caledonia Cemetery, with Pastor Amy Barr officiating. Family and friends will gather to pay their respects and celebrate the enduring legacy of a woman who touched so many lives with her kindness and joy.
Tonya Lynn Roque will be remembered for her joyful spirit, her tender heart, and the love she freely gave. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and love that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Her memory will forever be a blessing to those she held dear. May she rest in peace.
